First we want to thank you for your interest in our OwyheeStar Weimaraners. We have worked many years to improve and develop our lineages.

We take great joy in placing our hand-raised quality Weimaraner pups in special homes.

We do have an application process. Our goals are clearly defined in our Mission Statement, however, simply put we raise quality Weimaraner pups for person/persons of the same sort. We don’t spend hours bragging about our accomplishments. We simply try to do what we do to the best of ability and let the outcome speak for itself.

Here are some of the reasons we prefer Email:

  • Emailing helps us get you the information quickly, accurately, and more detailed.
  • Emailing helps you and us expedite the process.
  • Email allows us to stay focused on the pups and our training which is primary to doing a great job.
  • When you phone we may not be free to take your call or able to stay on the phone with you at that time.
  • To clarify even more, Email helps us get on the same page. Although this is initially less personalized (because there is a lot of ready-to-send information) it helps us a lot. It also makes sure we don’t omit something important. It means we don’t have to type the same exact things seven times in a day. This is important when you think about it.
  • Unfortunately, unless we don’t have much going on we don’t have the time to dedicate to a phone call. Things get left out and often the whole picture is not well presented. (Please read on if you prefer talking on the phone.)

Phoning OwyheeStar……..

We will answer the phone when possible. Keep in mind we are often on the run doing things so we normally end up checking our messages a few times a day. You might also want to know we are are in the Mountain Time Zone.

(One note here on our current answering machineWe need to purchase a new answering machine as ours will not hold our voice message for some reason. If you phone you will get a generic voice saying no one can take your call. It is annoying but no matter what we do it erases our personal message thanking you for calling each time we erase the old client messages. The machine is fairly new too, but we will need to purchase a new one in the near future.)

We do not answer phones calls that are blocked, unknown, or have odd numbers. We do return phones calls within 24 hours if we miss your call. We try to call back sooner if possible!

We do talk to our clients on the phone as the need arises. There are times when a phone conversation is much-needed to clarify communication. There are many situations that call for a personal phone call from one of us–here are a few of those instances:

  1. We often phone during the meet up or puppy pick up process.
  2. Frequently during the application process (after having reviewed your application) we like to dialogue about various topics. Sometimes we see an area where we can possibly help you avoid a potential problem and we want to share our thoughts on this area.
  3. We are not only open to problem solving before and after the puppy placement but encourage it. Prior to puppy placement Shela may call at an agreed upon time to discuss topics with you. After the puppy arrives you will have not only Cliff’s Email but his direct phone number to call him at any time. He is at your disposal for training tips, problem solving, or technical issues. His expertise and calm problem-solving skills can bring focus and solutions to the forefront. Together, we (Cliff and Shela) will do whatever we can do to help you succeed!
  4. If you leave a message we will return your phone call in a timely manner. It would be a rare occurrence if you didn’t hear from us within in hours but alas if there is a lot going on we might not call until the next day. We suggest you always send an Email to Shela) (the address is at the top of this page) saying you left a phone message and would really like a phone call back. That way if we cannot understand the phone number or our caller ID didn’t pick up your phone number we can have your phone number readily available. It ensures we can make the call back to you! Emailing us will allow us to send you special information that will definitely interest you! Information you can use and explore online even if it is late in the evening or very early in the morning. That way we can touch base with you as soon as possible and nothing will go awry with the communication.

If you prefer to phone……you may. We would truly prefer it if you allowed us to call you and even better if you could Email us first. Any of these highlighted Emails should make it easy for you to do so.
